Have you heard of hotlinking? It's the number-one method that bandwidth is stolen from you by other web designers, and it can cost you a lot of money. It involves creating a direct link to a website's non-HTML files in such a way that these files are embedded on another person's page.

For instance, imagine that you have created one of the best adult sites online. You have tons of images, and visitors love to come to your site. Now imagine that suddenly, though your user stats aren't increasing, your bandwidth (the amount of data transferred from your site to viewers) usage is going up. Your server administration contacts you to tell you that you are delivering 40% more images now than you were last week.

Has your income gone up commensurately? No. Has the traffic served by your site gone up? No. What has happened is someone, instead of just ripping off your images, has decided to hotlink to them from inside his or her own website.

This means instead of saving your image in their own images directory, they are linking to the image where it is hosted on your site. At one time in the early, early development of the web, this was an acceptable solution to stealing an image, provided you credited it properly. Today, with bandwidth usage at a premium and many, many more high-resolution images online, it is not acceptable.

Why Do They Do It?

There are many reasons for image hotlinking. For instance, suppose a relative newbie has started blogging or selling on eBay. They want an image, but they are alert enough to know that copying it and putting it on their own website is illegal. So, they figure, you won't notice if one person links out to your site. Besides, they really need that image.

That's an innocent use, and unlikely to greatly increase your image serving. But what if you're running an image-heavy site – an art site, for instance – and a competitor decides to simply use the images you've uploaded to sell their own posters? That is malicious. And if they use all your images, they can double or more your bandwidth usage, with no benefits whatsoever coming to you. There are even malicious webmasters who use this as a way to drive competitors out of business, as extra bandwidth is either charged for by the web host or the site is taken offline. And, unfortunately, it is not illegal. Yet. (Though some web servers will shut down a hotlinking site after complaints.)

A good analogy is someone wiring their home up to your electric utility pole. They don't pay for the electricity metered through your home – but you do. Many hotlinkers try to rationalize that what they are actually doing is akin to stealing cable – not at all the same, as cable users pay a flat rate for all the services they use total – or similar to using someone else's wireless WAN connection. Not only is this not true, but hotlinking is much more traceable than any of these examples. All it takes is patience and a good Google search.

Am I Hotlinking?

If you are linking directly out to any image or other non-HTML file that is not hosted on your own website, and you don't have permission from the webmaster to do it exactly that way, you are hotlinking. Anywhere you see a link starting src="http://" that goes on to list a domain that is not yours, you are hotlinking. Bandwidth to serve this image is not charged to you, but rather to the person you're stealing the image from. See the electricity analogy above!

You can either host images and other files from your own image directory, or you can upload them to a free image server that states in its usage restrictions that you are allowed to hotlink. Otherwise, just don't do it.

Though it is difficult to prosecute people hotlinking, there are ways to punish them. For instance, some webmasters use the "switcheroo" – they replace the image you've been stealing with something incredibly offensive, pornographic, or obnoxious. For example, they replace the beautiful flower you've used on your header with one of a body part – or with a guy holding a sign that says, "This person steals bandwidth." Any time you hotlink, you leave your site open for someone else to manipulate it.

There are hotlink checking services that can check your image links one at a time to see if they have been stolen – or to see if they are safe from hotlinking. These consist of sites that allow you to enter your own image URL in their form; the next page either will or will not contain your image. If it does, you know you're vulnerable. If you need a lot of images checked, you may have to pay a service to do it.

But there's a much simpler way to do it, if you have time to check all your images. Simply run a Google search for the complete URL link. If anyone is embedding your image URL in their page, it will turn up in the URL search. At that point, you get to administer whatever correction is appropriate – switcheroo, warning off the webmaster, or complaining to the host of the website.

You can protect your images, movies, sound, etc. from hotlinking by proper use of an .htaccess file as well, or by speaking to your server administrator. Always check with an administrator before uploading an .htaccess file.

What Else Should I Know About Hotlinking?

Though there are few formal outlets to complain about hotlinking right now, it is certain that in the future this will be a more serious offense. Instead of hotlinking, email webmasters with content you like and see if they'll let you use their content in exchange for a link back to their website; because of the value of links back, many will agree. Protect your own images, and even if you have them secure check them regularly. And to prevent good old-fashioned plagiarism, learn about watermarking your valuable images.

Do We Really Need A Home Based Business?

Do We Really Need A Home Based Business?

Word Count:
1001

Summary:
What ever your situation is today, you should consider starting your own home based and specifically online business. Even if you have your business, it does not hurt to diversify your income sources.

Keywords:
Home Business, Home Based Business, Online Business, Home Business ideas, Home business tips, Online business tips, online business ideas

Article Body:
In strategic planning they always tell you that you must always have a contingency plan. This means that you must create different probable scenarios of what could happen during the process of your original plan, and create a plan for each probable scenario.

Of course a plan is made because we need to reach a certain objective. Our objective in this case is to generate an income that would enable us live a kind of life that we aspire to live.

Since we do not have any money to start a business on our own and generate that kind of income we revert to the usual plan which is to find a job and then find our way up the organizational hierarchy of the corporate structure. Let us see what probable scenarios can come up here:

1) We are very successful and at the top of our game. We are moving up the corporate ladder and our income is nearing our goals and could very soon surpass it.

This is the most dangerous of all scenarios. It is very hard to cross our mind to take a moment and think what if something went wrong and all this success was taken away.

We all know that corporate life is never safe and anything can happen at any time. Even if we succeeded and were able to become at the top level of an organization, one day will come that we will have to retire and stay home. What are we going to do then?

2) We are working very hard but for some reason we do not seem to be progressing. What usually happens here is that we start looking for another job that would satisfy our needs and our growth expectations and plans.

We always think that the other job is greener and our chances there for development are greater. When we finally make the move, we realize that we have ran away from the previous problems with the old job, just to realize that we are facing a completely new set of problems with this new job.

3) We feel that our work is not appreciated and there is danger at any time that we might lose the job that is generating an income for us, and we say "an income" because we are still far away from what we aspire to achieve.

The above are not all the life scenarios that exist; as you may have your own established and successful own business which is not home based or online. Still we would say that diversification into Home Based and specifically Online Business is essential. I would only take the factor of the explosion of the internet and the abundant opportunity that exists there and stop the conversation there.

You can think of all the above scenarios either as separate examples or phases of one person's life cycle. So we need a plan "B," a contingency plan for these scenarios. Of course we can complicate things further by creating a different set of solution plans for each scenario, but that means that we will have to run into writing a long report of about 100 pages.

So let us look at the different probable solutions we have at hand:

1) Investment Options such as stocks and other similar options: This could be a good option for the first scenario, but it is also highly risky. This solution will not cater for the retirement part which involves not having anything to do after you leave work. Still no one can deny that this option could turn out to be extremely rewarding.

2) Always keep yourself in the market so that you can switch jobs at any time. This tactic has many medium and long term disadvantages. But top of mind disadvantages include:

a. Not going anywhere in any organization because you are not giving it enough time.

b. Your chances of finding the next job could gradually diminish as your CV will show the unsteady behavior.

c. You will not concentrate on the job at hand since you are always looking for the better job.

d. And many more disadvantages

3) Have your own business: This option seems very good, but if we are looking at it in terms of investing a lot of money and borrowing from the bank to be able to operate the business, then this stops being a plan "B." This means that you are already changing lanes without even signaling. Although it can be rewarding, but again we have to stress that this is not a contingency plan. This means you are changing your plan.

4) Home Based Business: Now this option is similar to the previous one but with a twist. Because home based business does not require a large investment and does not require your total attention and devotion for it to succeed, you can for sure call it a plan "B" since you are still working at your job. Advantages of this solution:

a. Low and in many cases extremely low initial investment

b. You do not have to work full time

c. Does not require you full attention

d. You can work at your own set hours

e. If anything goes wrong with your original work, then you can shift gears very quickly and you will be able to absorb the shock without any panic.

f. And many more..

All the above advantages could become disadvantages if you don't take your home business seriously. If you keep postponing things you need to do and making it the least of your priorities then this business will not see the light of day.

A home business is a wonderful thing to have working for you especially when you don't need it. Because then you will be working relaxed and enjoying what you are building for your future. You will not be stressed out and wanting it to succeed in one month.

With a home based business you have to be patient and consistent and eventually you will achieve your dreams.

How You Can Reach A Page Rank Of Four Or Five Easily.

How You Can Reach A Page Rank Of Four Or Five Easily.

Word Count:
482

Summary:
If you want a high page rank for your website, you need to do this.

Keywords:
page rank, press release

Article Body:
When you have a new website, or an older one that is stuck in a rut in terms of traffic, you really would love to bring the site to a higher page rank of four and above, lifting the site into more of an authority site category.

These sites gain more traffic, and therefore more profits for you.

How do you do this, you might be asking yourself?

The answer is, using the power of press releases. Whether you have heard of this method before or not, press releases are an incredibly powerful way of achieving a high page rank in very little time. And this in turn makes your site considered an authority site, on whatever theme the site is about, by the search engines.

Which then means more traffic, which is what we all want, right?

This is how you do it.

Firstly, you write the press release. It should not be too long. Three hundred words is a good length. It should not sound like a sales pitch. Because why would anybody pick up a blatant advertisement?

Make the headline catchy and draw the interest of the reader.

Make sure you have your keywords in the title and body of the release.

Ask the why, where, what and how.

Now read your press release and ask someone else you know to read it too, to get their opinion. It should flow and not read in a choppy way.

Finally comes the time to submit your press release.

You can submit it for free, however the maxim, you get what you pay for, as always applies. If you submit a free release, you will only get a tiny amount of traffic and fairly poor back links to your website, often irrelevant links too. For example, your site is about cars, and a website concerning cold cream links back to you. Not good.

I know. Because I have tried free submits in the past, and this is what happened to me.

Unless the press release is about something incredible, which spreads via word of mouth, do not expect much in the way of results.

In order to get the page rank of four or five you need to be in the first ten positions, and submit two or three times in a few weeks.

The cost would probably be several hundred dollars, depending upon how high you paid for. Sounds like a lot, I know. But getting a quick high page rank, and therefore high future earnings from the website is worth the short term cost.

If this is too much, pay what you can afford. The higher your position, the more traffic you are likely to have.

The biggest press site is called PR Web. Do a search for it.

Now get going, and submit a press release and watch your visitor count soar.

Choosing the right keywords can really increase your website traffic by increasing your search engine ranking and by encouraging visitors to stay on your site and return to your site. Choosing the wrong keywords, though, can be disastrous. There are five simple ways to choose your keywords wisely and improve your web traffic.

The first, and perhaps the easiest, way to choose the right keywords for your website is to brainstorm ideas with regard to your individual goods and services. Sometimes simply the name of your goods or services will work as an excellent keyword. For example, if you offer writing services, consider "technical writing" as you keyword. Creating a page around "writing" may not get you the customers you deserve. Think specifically about what you offer and create a page to advertise it. Within this, though, you must remember to stay away from general keywords. The competition for these keywords is rather stiff.

Thousands of sites are optimized for words like "computers," and doing the same thing with yours can simply make it redundant and hard for customers to find. Moreover, customers are more search savvy than you are giving them credit for. If a customer wants to find information on something specific, he or she will search for something specific. For example, they may want to know about flea treatments for their cat, but instead of searching for "fleas" or "cat," they may search for something more specific like a product name or type of treatment. If you feel you must use a general keyword, try taking a keyword and adding a more specific term to it. For example, if your key word is "cat," try adding more specific terms like "behavior" or "specialist" to that for site optimization. With these general terms, you might also consider adding regional terms. If you service a particular area of the country, you may have some regional terminology that will help customers find you. Names of nearby cities or towns can help as can terms that your customers know and respect. For example, if you run a sandwich shop in New Orleans, you might want to optimize for the term "muffuletta."

The second way to choose the right keywords for your website is to use a service like Google Keyword Sandbox or Overture Term Suggestion Tool. This way to choose your keywords can be a bit time consuming, but in the end, it is certainly worth it. Start with either service, and you'll end up with a huge list of possibilities. Once you've finished with that service, pick another and try running the same search. See what keywords you have in common with the two lists.

The third way to choose the right keywords for your website is to check your server log files. When someone visits your site from a search engine, the words they used to find your site are recorded in your server log files. Analyzing the actual files, though, can take some work. You can use various methods to examine those files depending on your server operating system. It can sometimes be best to use a software program to extract the information if you are not technically inclined.

The fourth way to choose the right keywords for your website is to use a keyword counter service. These analyze your web page and compare them with other, similar web sites. They offer you a density percentage report and the top words for the two pages based on their analysis. Keyword counter services are available all over the internet in both free and costly forms. Choosing the right service for you will simply be a matter of reading the reviews.

The final way to choose the right keywords for your website is to review sites that have both similar missions and products with regard to yours. It is important to notice sites that have rankings within the top ten on any given search engine. The point here isn't to copy the site; it is to figure out which keywords they are using to draw in potential customers.

Choosing the right keywords can be both a difficult and a long process. However, if you pick the right terms, you won't regret it based on your increased web traffic.

Article Submission Versus Hosted Marketing Pages: An Internet Marketing Comparison

Article Submission Versus Hosted Marketing Pages: An Internet Marketing Comparison

Word Count:

Summary:
The quest for high search engine rankings (and the traffic that comes along with them) has spawned some new search engine optimization techniques of late, two of them being article submission and hosted marketing pages. Although these techniques are similar in appearance, each has advantages and disadvantages.

Keywords:

Article Body:
The quest for high search engine rankings (and the traffic that comes along with them) has spawned some new search engine optimization techniques of late, two of them being article submission and hosted marketing pages. Although these techniques are similar in appearance, each has advantages and disadvantages. Before we delve into the heart of the issue, a couple of definitions are in order for newcomers to the internet marketing realm.

Submitting articles requires quite a bit of unpleasant work. First you have to be an expert about your chosen subject (or have the ability to fool others into believing you're an expert). Next you must be able to write about your subject in at least a coherent manner. Then you must find article directories in which to submit your work, giving them and any possible viewers the authority to freely copy and distribute your creation.

A hosted marketing page is a cross between purchasing a one way link from a website and submitting an article to a directory. The website in question allows you to purchase a complete page from their site along with a professionally written article that has multiple one-way links to your site.

The main advantages to both techniques are the SEO-friendly links. Whether you submit your article to a directory or purchase a hosted marketing page, you will get one-way links pointing to your site. Because search engines love one-way links, your website will undoubtedly receive a boost in your search engine ranking. But, the biggest boost will come from links using keywords relevant to your site coming from pages written about a subject relevant to your site.

Here's something you should remember. In most cases, a hosted marketing page text link from a relevant, high PR website will be much more important to the search engines than a text link from a posted article in a directory. But, if you're a talented enough author to have your writing approved, it may show up in several directories as well as multiple authority sites. This influx of links could potentially outweigh the few links from a single hosted marketing page.

The disadvantages are pretty obvious. Writing and submitting articles, although free, can consume a considerable amount of time, especially if you are not comfortable writing professionally. On the other hand, purchasing a professionally written hosted marketing page can be very expensive. You should be prepared to shell out anywhere from fifty dollars to several hundred dollars per month, depending on the popularity of the site.

Here's the bottom line. If you have little time, little writing skill, and a large marketing budget, hosting marketing pages would be most beneficial to you. However, if you have some free time, some copywriting experience, and little to no advertising dollars, writing and submitting articles to article directories would be most beneficial to you.

Ask other bloggers for their opinion on your blog and take their suggestions to heart.

3) Publish an RSS/Atom/XML feed. If you're using Blogger, you can turn on RSS feed by clicking on settings in your dashboard and then clicking on site feed and make sure that your settings are set to yes.

4) Carefully choose your subject titles, taking into consideration what other internet users may be searching for.

Use keywords in your title. I suggest subscribing to Word Tracker. Their report of the most popular searches is published each Tuesday and distributed to over 30,000 subscribers.

Technorati.com , is a blog search engine that also lists the top search words. The more targeted your keywords are, the greater your return in search engines will be.

5) Involve yourself in commenting on other blogs. You can gain a loyal readership just by offering feedback to your fellow bloggers. The comment feature allows you to add a link back to your blog as well.

6) Be sure to include your blog address in forum signatures and in your email signature.

7) Submit your blog to directories.

Submit your blog's url to Technorati, Daypop, Blogdex and Popdex.

8) Write articles. Include a resource box in your article and submit it to article directories such

9) If you're using blogging software such as Blogger, there is an option to notify the central blog update services  whenever you've made a new entry to your blog. Make sure that this option is turned on! In blogger, click on publish in your dashboard and make sure that your settings are set to yes under notify weblogs. Alternatively, you can go to  and send out a ping each time you update your blog. This lets everyone know that you've just updated your blog.

10) Link to other blogs. Use services like blogrolling, which is similar to linking. Blogrolling allows you to maintain an updated list of your favorite blogs. But, don't build a long blog roll of sites that you have no intention of returning to. There is nothing more annoying then visiting a blog that has a humongous blogroll.

Be patient, traffic doesn't happen overnight. The best way that I've found to increase traffic is by getting to know people. Spend what free time that you have, reading blogs, leaving feedback and building friendships. Try to leave comments on the blogs that you visit as often as you can. While you are waiting for the traffic to come, just enjoy blogging. You'll be improving your writing in the process.

Eventually you'll build a network of not just readers, but friends and loyal supporters. Blogging is not just about marketing; it's about creating lasting relationships.

What Topics Should Your Article Writing Campaign Cover?

What Topics Should Your Article Writing Campaign Cover?
Word Count:
356
Summary:
There are some easy ways to help you choose a direction and topic for your articles.

Keywords:
write, writing, create, author, writer, creative, web, promote, article, free, profit

Article Body:
You are convinced that article marketing will work wonders for your internet business, but are not sure what topics you should write about in those articles. What should be your focus?
There are some easy ways to help you choose a direction and topic for your articles. These include:
· What do your customers need to know: Think about some common questions that your customers or potential customers ask or what aspects of your particular business confuse the newcomers. For example, perhaps you have an online pet store. You might write articles addressing such topics as how to prepare your home for a new puppy (cat, bird, fish, etc.), what supplies you need to welcome home a new cat, how to choose a vet or even how to know when you need a vet. Don't try to sell here. Just provide important and useful information and you will gain interest and respect which will in turn result in far more customers than a direct sales approach.
· Check out some forums where people interested in your topic visit and post questions: What are some common questions and topics that are addressed. Look at novice users and expert users alike. Write different articles to address each audience.
· What do you wish you knew when you started out: Write a series of articles addressing topics that you now understand but wish you did in the beginning.
· Do a keyword search: Use a keyword research tool and search for keywords related to your topic. Use these keywords or searches as the springboard for articles in your niche.
You really can write articles about anything that interests you or strikes your fancy, but the most effective article marketing campaign for your business will be built around content-rich, keyword-targeted articles of interest to your core audience of potential customers.
Remember, you are not only working to obtain links but also to set yourself up as an expert in this field and to build a long-term relationship with customers so not only will you make a sale today, but tomorrow and next week and next year. That is how you build an internet business.

Introduction
There are several ways to create a PDF from a Microsoft Word document. PDF, or Portable Document Format, is used worldwide as a standard in publishing documents on the Internet. This article will briefly look at the origins and use of PDF and detail a document conversion solution that anyone can use.
Background
PDF has become the de facto standard in sharing documents and publishing on the Internet. For a complete look at the origins of PDF, see history of PDF at
Documents are created using a variety of applications. Some of the most popular are Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Publisher, plus many other kinds of applications. Sharing and publishing those documents becomes difficult when not everyone uses the same software.
Anyone can download and install the free version of Adobe Acrobat Reader and view PDFs. However, the Acrobat Reader cannot create a PDF. To create a PDF from your document you will need additional software or you can use an online conversion service.
Options
1. Buy full verion of Adobe Acrobat.
2. Buy software from another vendor that needs to be installed.
3. Use an online conversion service.
Buying a new version of Adobe Acrobat will cost over $200. If you have a licensed copy of Adobe Acrobat, you are set and ready to convert.
Purchasing another vendor's software is a bit of a guessing game on what to buy and whom you are buying from. Most companies will offer you a free trial version. Install it and try it out before committing to buying the software. When using either Adobe Acrobat or another conversion software product can be a good option, if you can afford the initial cost. However, buying software means you're ethically limited to using it on only one computer. You will also need to purchase upgrades as they become available.
Online conversion services are another option. With most, you simply upload your document to their site, it is converted and returned to you, either by email or a link back to the site. Some companies provide free conversions with limitations, which can include document file size, number of pages, or restricted ability to print or change your PDF. This option usually gives you a quick and easy way to find out if the service will meet your needs. The advantage to using an online service is that the cost is lower and the service is accessible from anywhere you have an Internet connection. You also avoid upgrade costs when newer software becomes necessary.
Solutions
A closer look at one PDF conversion option reveals just how easy the process really is. pdf4u is an online document conversion service that can be found on the web at
This particular service offers two ways to convert a Word document to PDF: submitting the document using their site or installing their printer and using it for your conversions. We'll walk through both methods.
Converting Native Word Document
1. Go to . Enter your email address. This automatically becomes your user name and will be the address used to return your PDF via attachment. If you have a Hotmail, Google, or Yahoo email account, you'll be able to use this solution anywhere you can access the Internet.
2. Select the Word document to be converted to PDF by using the browse button.
3. If you have a subscription you can change any of the Document Settings. The only one that has any effect on the quality of the PDF is the PDF Quality option. The PDF Quality option defines the resolution of the PDF document. If you have a lot of graphics you might need the prepress option.
4. Click on the Convert button.
You should be taken to a new page on the browser that tells you if the document was submitted and accepted successfully. If successful it will display the Document Settings your new PDF will have when you receive it as an attachment via email.
pdf4u Printer
Installing the printer requires an extra step but once installed is easy to use and you won't need to start a browser session to submit a document for conversion to PDF.
1. Go to the web site and click on the Printer Download menu item. that is displayed on the left menu. Download the pdf4u printer and install using the default options.
Open up your Word document to be converted and select the pdf4u printer as your printer.
2. Review your document and print using the pdf4u printer.
3. Once printing is completed a Document Submission Software screen will appear. On this screen enter the email address to send the converted PDF. Make any changes to the document name as desired and click the Next button.
4. The next screen is for setting the Document Settings and display resolution. Set the Document Settings to be placed on the PDF and the PDF display resolution. For best display results select the pre-press option for the PDF Display Resolution field. Click the Next button and your document will begin transferring to the pdf4u web site.
5. When the document has completed uploading you will get a File Transfer Completed screen to indicate the status of your file transfer operation. If you do not have a subscription to pdf4u the settings on the Document Settings screen will be ignored and the maximum file size (as of this writing) that can be uploaded is 50K.
6. Repeat steps 2 through 6 for each document to be converted to PDF.
Whichever option you choose, document conversion to PDF should be relatively painless. And since it appears as though PDF is here to stay, everyone should make certain they have this capability at their fingertips.

Many kids across the country are enthralled with their new video games that they received as Christmas presents from family and friends. These children need very little instruction to help them get started playing fun and exciting video games that focus on sports events, fantasy thrillers and cartoon characters to provide hours of uninterrupted entertainment opportunities.

Some of these video games can be used on home computer systems but for the most part, these video games are operated on handheld game consoles, multimedia consoles or multimedia platforms. There are a variety of handheld controllers that are attached to the gaming consoles using cords or are powered with wireless networking technologies that allow children to play a video game from anywhere in the room.

The Xbox 360 multimedia platform is one of the latest operating systems for playing video games on. It features a game playing environment that allows the user to rotate their viewpoint in a 360 degree radius, and the visual aspects in each video game is very realistic for even the most seasoned of video game players.

Some video games are compatible for use on other gaming systems. The Nintendo Wii game system will play single or double-layered optical discs or 8-centimeter Nintendo GameCube video games too. The Game Boy Micro will play all video games that are made for the Game Boy Advance SP models.

The Nintendo DS has the capability to allow up to 16 players to network together and enjoy the same video game action and chat with each other as they enjoy their video games. The Nintendo DS will also play all games currently used by the Game Boy Advance and those made specifically for the Nintendo DS game system.

The Sony PlayStation Portable is commonly called a PSP by video gamers all over the world. This handheld video game system serves double duty as a video game player and one that will serve as a portable video and photo viewer. MP3-encoded songs can also be played when they are stored on the Memory Stick Duo that comes with all game consoles.

The Xbox features unbelievable graphics and an amazingly powerful hard drive system that some people compare to the hard drives found in their own personal computer systems that they have at home. Many of the XBOX video games are suitably rated for Teen and Mature audiences, and some of them may contain very graphic violence and adult themes that are not suitable for viewing by children.

The Xbox can be used as a home entertainment system too. The Xbox is well equipped to play many musical compact disks that are sold at major retailers around the country with brilliant sound qualities that might be found in more expensive home entertainment systems. The family can enjoy DVDs of their favorite movies and build a home library that is second to none.

Many of these game systems are equipped with wireless technologies and feature USB 2.0 connectivity. Video games can be played with surround sound features or through built-in speakers on many of the video gaming consoles. These video games will be shown in vivid digital screen colors and in sizes that are perfect for traveling, or for use by many players when attached to a home television unit.

• How do I give value to the visitor?
• Am I passionate about the topic of my website?
• Will Google accept or decline my website?
• Do I put Adsense ads on it from the first day?

Maybe these questions are not written in the good order, but we have to take them in consideration before we go ahead and put some crappy website on the net, with nothing useful on it. We even ask ourselves, why we are not succeeding to make revenue from Adsense ads.

So, first of all we have to determine what theme we will choose for our website or blog. The next question pops up and says:

How do we choose a theme?

To make things easier for us we will choose a theme that we are interested in or even passionate about. That way we will not easily fall in a state of procrastination.

Will the theme of my website attract many visitors?

To be able to know that, we will do a search in the search-engines typing our theme within quotes. The number of competing websites will tell us that it will either be easy or difficult to rank for the main 'keywords' of our website. However choosing long-tail keywords(or multiple keyword phrases) will bring up less competing websites and make it easier to rank for those 2 or 3 word phrases.

How do we offer value to the visitor?

If we are passionate about a topic we will put more effort in the creation of our website and be able to offer much more value to the visitor. We will have more basic knowledge about the topic. This will make it easier for us to create content to publish on our website. Very often when your theme has something to do with your hobby or your job you will be able to write enough unique content with the knowledge you already have about the subject.

Will Google accept or decline my website ?

To know that we will have to find out what Google expects from an Adsense publisher. Google wants you to deliver a complete website that offers information that is relevant to what the searcher asks for in the search-box on the page of the search-engine.

Google gives more value to a website that offers unique and fresh content. Content that is not written by a software application, but that reads like a human has written it.

In addition the website will be well structured and display a menu with text-links to other pages in the website with related content and information about the webmaster, including contact information. Doing the above will help you to be accepted for the Google Adsense program easily.

Do I put Adsense ads on my website from the first day?

Actually it is not a good idea to start displaying Adsense ads right away. The most successful websites are those with a history of offering good solid information to the visitors. Having incoming links from high PR directories and important websites related to the theme of the websites. Having the ads on your website could form a barrier for webmasters of authority sites or directories to create links to your website, because they could have the impression that your only goal is to earn revenue from the ads instead of offering quality content to the visitor.

A good idea would be to start building your website as described above. Continue offering good information and building links with high PR and authority sites until your site has been indexed by Google and displays it on the first page for most of your keyword phrases.

After that you can start to monetize your website with the Google Adsense ads. At that time you will have the right visitors to your website that are interested in the theme of your website and also in the titles that the ads display. In addition you will have enough traffic to make a decent amount of money from the Adsense ads.

In conclusion it is important to maintain the hard work that is necessary to keep growing your website with unique content related to the theme of your website. The traffic will grow slowly but sure and as a result your Adsense revenue will grow too

Those looking for a serious home based business opportunity online may often be a little overwhelmed with all of the options at their disposal.  It can sometimes be difficult to sort out all of the different choices involved in the search for a serious home based business opportunity.

One serious home based business opportunity category is the area of sales.  Many mothers, students, and entrepreneurs sell different types of products through this serious home based business opportunity.  Products offered range anywhere from makeup and skin care to vitamins to household cleaning supplies.  Although this is an excellent way to make money as a serious home based business opportunity, working in sales requires patience, friendliness, and an overall knowledge of one's product.  If one can develop the right approach over time, selling various products often proves to be an excellent choice for a serious home based business opportunity.

Another avenue in the pursuit of a serious home based business opportunity is the area of a business franchise.  A franchise situation is one in which you work with an already existing business model in order to expand that company as well as make money yourself through this type of serious home business opportunity.  The advantages of this particular style of serious home business opportunity are that one does not have the fees and stresses associated with starting a new business from scratch.  Franchised business models tend to be very orderly and work very easily, as they are designed specifically with the franchisee in mind.  The down side of this type of serious home based business opportunity is that a franchise does not usually offer a lot of creative freedom within the structure.  Whether or not this is viewed as a problem would depend on each individual entrepreneur and his or her personal goals in pursuit of a serious home based business opportunity.  Some people appreciate the ease of having their business planned out for them, and others would prefer to start from the ground up with their own serious home based business opportunity.

A third type of serious home based business opportunity is a business that is conducted through the use of the internet and e-commerce.  There are countless ways that the internet can be used to pull in a profit when a person is working on a serious home based business opportunity.  Many products and services are made available online through the use of a website, which can often be a very profitable and serious home based business opportunity.  Internet businesses are not difficult to set up, although they do require an adequate knowledge of basic technology and the workings of the world wide web.  The biggest challenge of an internet business is keeping up with the growing and changing times, as well as finding a way to make your business stand out among other internet companies as a serious home based business opportunity that is pulling in satisfactory profits.

There is much information online that is designed to help a person begin his or her first serious home based business opportunity.  The best way to take advantage of one's serious home based business opportunity is to gather as much knowledge as possible.  This, in turn, will cause the serious home based business opportunity to be the best it can possibly be.  With a little effort, the sky is the limit!

Ok, you have scoured the internet for a business opportunity that is going to make you that dream income. You know it's out there; you just need to find it. But which ones are good and which ones are bad? How do you know? What are the signs to success with a home business?

No matter where you go on the World Wide Web, everyone seems to say "I have found what is going to make you successful". But without some extensive research and a little insight on how the whole web thing works you just might find yourself loosing a lot of money and time. I mean do these people actually think we are going to put trust in something or someone that promises me to be making 10,000 dollars the first month in business?

That's a little far fetched if you ask me. No doubt, in some really rare instances it has happened but could it really happen to you? In my years of trial and error, I have found that it does not happen over night and you do have to put in effort to get paid for it. So that seems to help you weed out a few thousand opportunities. So, what next?

For one it would be good to ask "how long has the company been in business?" I know there are companies out there that haven't been around long and you would just have to take a gamble that they are all they say they are, but there are some other ways to "test" them. One thing to look for: Do they provide a phone number for you to contact them? This may sound simple, but just do a little research for yourself and see how many actually provide you with a number! And yes some will give a number but you can never talk to a real person. It does make a huge difference.

Next, what about the product? How big is the market for it? Is it consumable? Is it a product you can believe in and truly "love" to share with others? These are some great questions show the "signs to success". First of all let's say you find a product that everyone is buying and it is consumable (which means it can be used up and orders will need to be repeated) ok you seem to have found it, but you decide that I don't really like it myself but since there is such a huge market for it and it's consumable I think I can do this. Do you really think you can sell something you don't truly love? I have tried it already and it made me hate the opportunity I was in just like having a job I hated! Who wants that? So finding something you feel good about promoting is a very good "sign" to look for.

Ok now you have found your perfect company with a perfect product. Now what? Another good thing to check for is the cost to become a member of that opportunity. I know the old saying: "you get what you pay for" and while that does ring true in so many cases, it's not always the case in this business. For instance, I paid $3,500 to join a business and they didn't even provide a product! I had to find one for myself! You would think it would have been a great opportunity since it cost so much but not in that case! I found one that was free to join and the company disappeared after I first looked into it. So it can really be a matter of investigating the company further.

What about a compensation plan? Well we all know the "pyramid" schemes and how they only make the top spot rich. So how do you know the difference? For one Multi Level marketing, at first glance appears to be a pyramid, but after you understand how it works, you will see that it works to better anyone who puts in the hard work, not just the lead guy! And yes I did say "hard work". It won't just happen for you; you have to make it work. Although you can find opportunities that will work with just a good product, I recommend you finding one that provides a great comp plan.

For instance I joined a company that had a comp plan that only allowed you to enroll 6 people in top spots and after that you had to put people under other people. That was bad because you were practically giving your hard work away! There are companies that allow unlimited top spots and pay down 8 levels! So you make the most out of what you give in!

Finally a good "sign to success" is a good support and mentoring team. Not one that just claims to have one but who actually put it in motion! How many jobs have you had that just put you out there and said "do it" without any training? Of course it's in the best interest of the owner to train you to do your job. It works the same in internet home business opportunities. You want to find someone who has been successful and is willing to teach you how to do it too! Some things to look for are: Do they provide team meetings via telephone? Do they have training calls available every week? Can you contact them with questions? Do they have annual conferences?

Although these are just some great guidelines, not all companies will have every one in place and still be a great opportunity. So just get out there and do some research for your self you will find pretty quickly that they all pretty much fall into the same categories. Just keep in mind: "if they promise big things in a short time", it is probably too good to be true!
